FAQs

Q.  Are you licensed and insured?
A.  Yes.  We are a licensed Virginia Building and Home Improvement Contractor and carry all necessary insurance.  We will gladly provide copies of our license and insurance certificate.

Q.  Do you use subcontractors?
A.  While the majority of our work is kept “in house” certain jobs, such as plumbing and electrical, require special licenses and training to perform the work correctly and more important, legally.  We will oversee the scheduling, payments and most importantly the quality of the work performed so you have one point of contact and one company to pay.

Q.  How soon can you do the work?
A.  That depends on the job.  We can usually schedule smaller repair jobs in within a week or two while larger jobs requiring design and permitting can take months to get started.

Q.  How much is this going to cost?
A.  The price of every project is determined entirely by the choices our clients make.  Just like buying a car, the base model is going to be far less than the top level, loaded with every option model.

Q.  Why do you need to know my budget?  Are you just going to make your price match that so you can take all of our money.
A.  No, we don’t base our price on your bank account.  We’re happy if we can do the job you want for less than you thought it would cost.  On the other hand sometimes the reality is that your budget just isn’t enough to do the job at the level of finish you are looking for.  Using the car analogy again, if your budget is for a mid priced sedan and we are showing you $100,000 sports cars then we are not doing a good job of educating or helping you. We use your budget to make sure we are guiding you to the products and finishes that you not only want but that you can afford.  Sometimes this means sacrificing some “wants” for some “needs” or putting off the project for a while.  It’s best to find out early rather than going through the design stages and building excitement only to find out you can’t afford to do the project.  We can give you some ideas of different price levels at our initial meeting before we move on to the design and detailed pricing stages.
